Holiday Play Scheme (Ages 5–17)

Our Holiday Play Scheme offers fun, inclusive and engaging sessions for children and young people aged 5 to 17 with disabilities or complex health needs. Running during every school holiday except Christmas, these sessions provide exciting opportunities to try new activities, build friendships and enjoy supported play in a safe, welcoming setting.

What are Short Breaks?

Short Breaks are supportive, fun activities for children and young people with disabilities, aged 5 to 17 years. They give children and young people the chance to play, try new experiences, build friendships and develop independence — all within a safe, inclusive environment.

Short Breaks also provide parents and carers with valuable time to rest, recharge, or attend to things that are difficult while providing full-time care. The sessions benefit everyone involved, offering positive experiences, social opportunities and meaningful support for the whole family.

About the Holiday Play Scheme

The Holiday Play Scheme runs every school holiday except Christmas, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and is open to children and young people aged 5–17. The sessions give children a fun and supportive break from routine, with a wide range of activities designed to encourage confidence, independence and social connection.

The Play Scheme provides opportunities to:

Activities may include:

Themed days and seasonal crafts

Outdoor play and exploration

Sensory and messy play

Creative arts, construction and imaginative play

Calm spaces for quiet time if needed

Every session is delivered by experienced, understanding staff who create a warm, inclusive environment where every child can feel confident, secure and engaged.
