Children's wellbeing & Emotional Support

At Shine, children’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We create a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, supported and understood. Our staff build strong, trusting relationships that help children develop confidence, emotional security and positive social skills.

They happily separate from parents and feel confident entering the setting
Staff are warm, nurturing and responsive - children readily seek comfort and enjoy positive interactions

Teaching, Learning & Early Development

We are committed to helping every child learn, communicate and thrive at their own pace. Through high-quality teaching, meaningful interaction and rich play experiences, children develop early skills that prepare them for future learning.

They use a range of communication strategies – such as repeating words, signing, pictorial timetables and intensive interaction – to help children understand routines, express themselves and build confidence

Indoor spaces are stimulating, well-equipped and inviting
Children enjoy music, instruments, creative play and sensory experiences
Staff model activities well, and children enthusiastically copy and join in, showing curiosity and joy

Leadership, Culture & Parent Partnership

Our dedicated team works closely together to maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and professional practice. Families speak highly of the warm, supportive relationships they have with staff, and we value this partnership deeply. 

Together, we create a positive, inclusive culture where children and families feel welcomed, respected and supported.

Significant improvements have been made since the previous inspection, especially in record-keeping and safeguarding processes
Staff are well supported through supervision and training
The team is described as enthusiastic and nurturing, and children are happy and settled as a result
The manager reflects well on practice and has clear plans for ongoing improvement
